Siding · Gutters · Windows · Trim

Siding, gutters, windows, and trim. Built to match the roof above them.

Licensed exteriors contracting for residential and commercial projects across the Saint Louis and Chicago metros. Minimum project size $5,000 — below that we point you to a partner who fits the job better.

One of three Vulcan brand pillars — roofing, exteriors, and the sibling discipline round out the full exterior envelope.

Who this is for

Built for the projects that matter.

  • Homeowners bundling siding + roof after hail
  • Real-estate owners prepping a home for listing
  • Property managers on multifamily exterior refresh
  • Insurance-covered storm damage restoration
  • GCs needing a qualified exteriors sub under one license

What we build

Every scope below is in-bench and self-performed or directly managed. Nothing subcontracted to a partner we haven’t personally vetted.

Fiber cement siding (James Hardie, Nichiha)

Engineered-board fiber cement on full-home replacements. 30-50 year paint warranty, Class-4 impact rated, non-combustible. Our default spec on hail-exposed properties.

Vinyl siding replacement

Mid-tier vinyl with insulated backing. Good budget option for investor flips, multifamily, and rental properties. Typical 25-year transferable warranty.

Gutter + downspout replacement

6-inch seamless aluminum gutters installed on-site, plus 3x4 downspouts sized for roof run-off. Gutter guards (aluminum mesh or reverse-curve) optional.

Window capping + trim

Aluminum wrap on window frames, fascia, and rake boards so the exterior never needs paint again. Required add-on on most fiber cement jobs.

Storm-damage exterior restoration

Hail-damaged siding + gutters + wrapped trim are all covered on the same homeowner claim that pays the roof. We file one consolidated supplement so the scope pays together.

Soffit, fascia, and rafter-tail repair

Rotted soffit + fascia replacement tied in with roof replacement or as standalone repair. Critical for ventilation and rake-edge water shedding.

How a project runs

STEP 1

On-site measurement

PM walks the exterior, measures each elevation, and flags substrate issues (rot, wrap failure, structural). Satellite measurement is never enough for exteriors.

STEP 2

Fixed-bid proposal

Line-item scope: material selections, color specs, scaffolding plan, disposal. One number, no discovery charges mid-install.

STEP 3

Install + weather protection

Crews stage demo + install so the home is never open to weather overnight. Typical mid-size house wraps in 3-5 days for full replacement.

STEP 4

Punch-list + warranty registration

Final walk with homeowner, punch list closed before final payment, manufacturer warranty registered in your name at sign-off.

License + insurance

  • Missouri + Illinois general contractor license
  • James Hardie Preferred Contractor
  • $2M commercial general liability
  • Manufacturer training on Hardie, LP Smartside, Nichiha
  • 5-year workmanship warranty (+ transferable manufacturer)

Straight answers

Do you replace siding as a standalone job, or only with a roof?+

Both. We prefer to bundle when the homeowner is doing both in the same season (one mobilization, one permit set, one coordination) but standalone siding replacements are routine. Starting project size is about $5,000 for a small section up to $45,000+ for full-home fiber cement on a 2,500 sqft home.

How much does fiber cement siding cost in Saint Louis or Chicago?+

James Hardie installed runs $11-$16/sqft in most STL + CHI markets depending on substrate + removal requirements. On a typical 2,200 sqft home that's $24K-$35K for the siding alone, plus capping and any rotted-substrate repairs found during tear-off.

Do you handle storm-damage insurance claims on siding?+

Yes. Hail-damaged siding is a named peril on every standard homeowner policy. When the roof claim is open, we scope siding + gutters + trim + window caps on the same supplement so the whole exterior restoration pays together. You only owe one deductible.

Which gutter system do you recommend?+

Seamless 6-inch aluminum is the default for STL + CHI markets. 6-inch handles storm run-off that 5-inch can't (our metros both see 2+ inches of rain per hour in spring storms). Aluminum guards add roughly $6/linear foot and pay themselves back if the home has heavy tree cover.

Is your siding warranty transferable on home sale?+

Yes. James Hardie and most major vinyl manufacturers carry fully transferable warranties for at least the first buyer. We register the warranty in the homeowner's name at install so the transfer paperwork is already clean when the home sells.

Can you color-match siding for a partial replacement?+

On vinyl, the manufacturer usually keeps 3-5 years of color runs. On fiber cement we can match any current James Hardie or Nichiha color and paint field-applied if the original color is discontinued. Full-elevation replacement is cleaner than patching when the existing is more than 8-10 years old.

Do you offer financing on exteriors?+

Yes, same three-lender partnership network as our roofing financing. APRs 6-14% based on credit, terms 12-180 months. Pre-approval happens at the estimate stage.

What's the timeline from signed contract to finished exterior?+

For a typical single-family home: 2-3 weeks from signed scope to install start (material order + scheduling), 3-5 days on-site for the actual work, punch-list close-out the week after. Storm-damage claims add 2-4 weeks on the front for carrier approval.

Have a exteriors project in mind?

Tell us the scope and timing. Site survey scheduled inside a week, fixed-bid proposal inside two.
