Hail, wind, insurance claims

After the storm, document the roof before deciding the scope.

Roof inspection, emergency mitigation when available, photo documentation, and a written contractor scope for you and your carrier to review.

Written scope + closeout photos

Hail, wind, and falling debris can damage roofing systems, but coverage depends on the policy, cause of loss, roof condition, exclusions, and carrier investigation.

We inspect the roof, record observed conditions, and give you a written contractor report. When permitted, we can explain our measurements and scope during the carrier inspection.

Your carrier decides coverage and payment. The roofing contract separately explains the construction price, deductible responsibility, upgrades, non-covered work, and payment schedule.

Scope, selected system, pricing assumptions, and production next steps are documented instead of buried in a call.

Questions homeowners actually ask

Do I have to file a claim before you come out?
No. We inspect first, free, and tell you honestly whether you have a real claim. Filing a dead claim can raise your rates for no benefit.
What counts as storm damage?
Hail impacts that break the asphalt mat, wind-lifted or missing shingles, creased shingles, damaged flashing, and impact damage to vents, gutters, or siding. We document every type.
Will my insurance rates go up?
Premium and underwriting effects vary. Ask your insurer or agent how a claim may affect your policy; Vulcan cannot predict rate changes.
What if the adjuster denies the claim?
We can provide additional contractor photos, measurements, and scope details. Coverage disputes and policy interpretation should be handled with the carrier, a licensed public adjuster, or an attorney as appropriate.
How long do I have to file after a storm?
Most policies allow up to 12 months. Do not wait — damage gets worse, and adjusters start questioning whether it was really from the named storm.
